Fix voice command issue
If Alexa isn't responding to your BetterTV commands, there are a few things you can check.
Make sure Alexa is paired
- Open your Amazon Alexa app and look in the Enabled Skills section. You should see BetterTV listed there.
- If it's not showing up, you'll need to set up the connection again. Learn how to pair Alexa with BetterTV
Check Alexa isn't muted
- Look for a red light or mute indicator on your Alexa device. If it's muted, press the mute button to turn it back on.
Test Alexa is working properly
- Try asking Alexa about the weather or time to make sure the device itself is working. If Alexa can't answer basic questions, the issue is with Alexa, not your BetterTV.
Watch for the blue ring
- When you give a voice command, you should see a blue ring appear in the top-left corner of your TV screen. This shows Alexa heard you and is processing the command.
- No blue ring means the devices aren't talking to each other properly.
Be specific with your commands
- Say "Alexa, change channel to BBC One" rather than just "change channel." Clear, specific commands work better than vague ones.

How do I disconnect Alexa from BetterTV?
To unpair Alexa from your BetterTV, disable the BetterTV option on your Amazon Alexa app. If you want to reconnect later, just enable the option again and follow the pairing steps.
