What your BetterWiFi mesh node is telling you
Router Type: Technicolor Mesh Nodes (White units with black router)
During Setup:
- Flashing yellow: Your mesh getting ready to pair or pairing is in progress
- Flashing green: Your mesh is pairing with router
- Solid orange: Your mesh has successfully paired, ready to position
Normal Operation:
- No light: This means your mesh is working perfectly (normal state)
- Green or blue light: Your mesh has excellent signal strength to your router
Check Signal Strength:
- Green: a strong connection to your router. You're good to go.
- Orange: Your connection is acceptable, but you could get better performance. Try moving your mesh node a bit closer to your router if you can.
- Red: Too far from router, move it much closer to get a better signal.
Problem Indicators:
No lights + no power: This means you need to check power connection. Give the WiFi button a quick press to check, or make sure the power cable is plugged in properly.
Stuck flashing yellow: You may need to move your mesh closer to router or reset your mesh node.
Router Type: Icotera Mesh Nodes (White units with white router)
During Setup:
- Flashing white: Your mesh is starting up (wait 2-3 minutes—this is normal)
- Flashing yellow: Your mesh is getting network settings from your router
- Solid blue: Your mesh has successfully paired, ready to position
Normal Operation:
- No light: This means your mesh is working perfectly (normal state)
- Solid white for 1 minute, then off: Healthy connection confirmed (press WiFi button once to check)
Signal Strength Check:
- Green: A strong connection to your router. You're good to go.
- Blue: Good signal strength. You're all set.
- Yellow: Your connection is acceptable, but you could get better performance. Try moving your mesh node a bit closer to your router if you can.
- Purple: Too far from router, move it much closer to get a better signal.
Problem Indicators:
- No lights + no power: This means you need to check power connection. Give the WiFi button a quick press to check, or make sure the power cable is plugged in properly.
- Flashing red: Your mesh is in an error state. Give our support team a call and we'll help you sort it out.
- Stuck flashing yellow: This indicate a connection issue. Check that your ethernet cable is plugged in properly, or try moving your mesh closer to your router.

Router Type: Brsk Boosters (White boosters with white Brsk hub)**
During Setup:
- Flashing white: Your booster is starting up (wait 2-3 minutes—this is normal)
- Flashing red: Your booster is ready to pair with your hub
- Flashing blue: WPS pairing is in progress
- Solid green: Your booster has successfully paired, ready to position
Normal Operation:
- No light: This means your booster is working perfectly (normal state)
- Solid white: Healthy operation, good to move to final position
Problem Indicators:
- Solid red: Power supply issue or hardware problem. Check your power adapter is properly plug, if that doesn't work give us a call.
- No light with power connected: Check you're using the correct power adapter or contact our support team.
** Check Your Connection Quality**
If you want to see how well your booster is performing? Open a browser and go to http://192.168.1.1 (you'll need to log in with the admin password on the bottom of your hub).
From there, you can:
- Check your signal quality percentages
- See which devices are using 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands
- Monitor devices using multiple bands at once (multi-link operation)
