Does Freely offer accessibility features?

Freely is committed to making TV accessible for everyone. The platform has a dedicated Accessible TV Guide and supports features for sight and hearing needs.

Accessible TV Guide

This specialised guide uses high contrast for easy reading and simplifies navigation. You'll find the guide on channel 555.

Once you're in the Accessible TV Guide, you can filter to show only:

  • Programmes with subtitles (S)
  • Programmes with audio description (AD)
  • Programmes with sign language (SL)

Additional Accessible Options**

Subtitles

Turn on subtitles:

  1. Press the Subt. button on your PLEIO remote, or
  2. Use the MiniGuide: press OK or any arrow key while watching TV and look for the S symbol to toggle subtitles on and off
  3. In player apps: Turn on subtitles within the app itself (apps like BBC iPlayer or Channel 4)

Audio description

Find shows with audio description:

  1. Select the Audio Description option (shown as AD) on your MiniGuide
  2. Press OK or any arrow key while watching TV to open the MiniGuide, then look for the AD symbol to toggle audio description

Sign language

Sign language programmes are provided by the channel broadcasters. For details on which shows have signing, check the relevant channel's website.

Most shows also include subtitles to help people who are hard of hearing.
