Brsk Legacy - How do I get new Freely channels?

How do you receive the latest Freely channels?

One of the great benefits of your PLEIO is that it keeps your channel list automatically updated. You'll never need to worry about manually searching for new channels again.

How do the automatic updates work?

Your PLEIO is constantly connected to the Freely service over the internet. This lets it receive the latest channel information in the background, including new channels, changes to existing ones, or channels that have been removed. Updates usually happen overnight while your PLEIO is in low-power mode. When you turn on your TV in the morning, your channel list is already up to date.

Update manually if you need to

If you want to check for updates yourself:

  1. Click the gear icon on your Freely TV Guide (top right of the screen)
  2. Then select 'Software Updates' - this will check for the latest software and let you update straight away.

Why aren't all Freeview channels available on Freely?

Freely offers over 100 channels, including all the UK's main broadcasters. But not every channel from the full Freeview list is available to stream over the internet yet.

Why some channels are missing (for now)

You can already watch over 95% of the UK's most-watched shows without an aerial, including all the main public service broadcasters (BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and Channel 5).

However, some channels aren't ready to stream yet. Here's why:

  • Waiting for permission: Some channel owners don't yet have the agreements or content rights needed to stream their programmes over the internet across the whole UK. They might only have rights for traditional aerial broadcasts.
  • Technical switchover: Every channel needs to go through a big technical process to convert from aerial broadcast to internet streaming. Some smaller channel providers are still working on this to join the Freely platform.

Freely is constantly working to add more channels and services. You can visit this webpage for the latest updates and/or visit this webpage for the full list of channels.
