Why aren't my streaming apps working?

When streaming apps like Netflix, iPlayer, or Amazon Prime aren't working properly, here are some quick fixes to try.

Check your internet connection

Test other apps first: Try opening a different streaming app to see if the problem affects all apps or just one.

Make sure you're connected: Check your BetterTV is connected to the internet via WiFi or Ethernet cable. You can verify this in Settings > Help & Support > Diagnostics.

WiFi troubleshooting: If you're using WiFi, make sure your router is close enough to your BetterTV and working properly. Slow or unstable internet often causes buffering issues.

Restart your BetterTV

A simple reboot often fixes app issues:

  1. Unplug your BetterTV for 30 seconds
  2. Plug it back in and wait for it to fully restart
  3. Test the app again once your device has completely loaded
Try changing the video quality

Sometimes apps work better with different video resolution settings.

Try changing HDMI resolution:

  1. Go to Settings > Sound & Picture
  2. Select HDMI Resolution
  3. Try 1920x1080 p60 or 1280x720 p60
  4. Test the app again

If the problem continues, it might be an issue with the streaming app service itself rather than your BetterTV.
