Fix internet connection issues
When your BetterTV can't connect to the internet, streaming apps and catch-up services won't work.
Lets walk you through show you how to get back online.
Check your Wi-Fi connection
- Go to 'Settings' on your BetterTV
- Select 'Help & Support' > 'Diagnostics'
- Check that your Wi-Fi is showing as 'Connected' with a quality percentage.
**Wi-Fi quality tip: **Anything above 60% should work fine. Below 60% might cause streaming issues.
Test your internet on other devices
Try using Wi-Fi on your phone or laptop. If they're also slow, the issue is with your broadband, not your BetterTV. Contact your broadband provider if your internet seems slower than usual across everything.
Try other streaming apps
Open Netflix, iPlayer, or another streaming app. If some work but others don't, there might be a temporary issue with a specific service. App-specific problems usually sort themselves out within a few hours.
Restart everything
- Restart your router first: Unplug it for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and wait for all the lights to come back on.
- Then restart your BetterTV: Unplug the power cable for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and turn it on with your remote.
- Wait a few minutes for everything to reconnect before testing your internet connection again.
