Brsk Legacy - How do I fix channels buffering on PLEIO?

What to do if channels keep buffering on your PLEIO

Buffering and picture quality drops are frustrating, but they can almost always be fixed by checking your internet connection. Since all channels are delivered over the internet, a fast and stable connection is essential for smooth viewing.

Follow these steps to fix the problem.

1. Restart your router and modem

This is the most common fix for internet issues. Turning your router and modem off and on again clears any temporary glitches and refreshes your connection.

  1. Unplug the power cables from both your router and modem
  2. Wait 30 seconds
  3. Plug your modem back in first and wait for all the lights to turn on and become stable
  4. Plug your router back in and wait for it to fully connect
2. Check your internet speed

A slow internet speed is the most likely cause of buffering. Freely requires a minimum 10 Mbps download speed for reliable streaming.

Test your speed:

  1. Use another device like a phone or laptop
  2. Go to speedtest.net or fast.com and run a test
  3. If your speed is below 10 Mbps, contact your internet service provider
3. Free up bandwidth

Your internet bandwidth is shared among all the devices in your home. If lots of them are in use at the same time, it can slow down your PLEIO's connection.

Reduce what's using bandwidth:

  • Stop activities like downloading large files, online gaming, or streaming on other TVs or computers
  • Check that no other devices are running in the background and using up bandwidth
4. Restart your PLEIO

Sometimes a simple restart fixes the issue. A power cycle clears any temporary software problems without affecting your settings.

  1. Unplug the power cable from the back of your PLEIO
  2. Wait 30 seconds
  3. Plug it back in - your PLEIO will restart automatically
