What is a factory reset?
A factory reset returns your BetterTV to how it was when you first got it. This is a last resort—only do it if nothing else has worked.
Keep in mind: A factory reset wipes everything. You'll lose all your recordings, favourite channels, app logins, and your PIN. Once it's done, there's no getting any of it back. It is worth trying a simple restart first or giving our support team a call before you go down this route.
How to reset your BetterTV
From your Settings menu:
- Go to Settings, then select General > Advanced (or Help & Support > Advanced if you have a NetBox 4K).
- Enter your 4-digit PIN
- Select Reset settings.
Using the physical button:
- Find the button on the side of your device
- Press it quickly 5 times in a row. That'll trigger the reset.
After the reset
Your BetterTV will restart and walk you through the setup process again, just like when you first unboxed it. You'll need to reconnect to your WiFi, sign back into all your streaming apps, and set up your preferences from scratch.
